Other Factors to Consider

Climate & Humidity

In dry climates (under 40% humidity), evaporative coolers are the most efficient choice. In humid climates like Houston (60%+ humidity), spot coolers or misting fans work better.

Indoor vs. Outdoor

Enclosed spaces need spot coolers with exhaust ducting. Open-air spaces do better with evaporative coolers or misting fans that don't require exhaust.

Ventilation

Evaporative coolers require good airflow — they push hot air out while pulling cool air in. If your space is sealed, a spot cooler is the better choice.

Ceiling Height

Spaces with high ceilings (20+ ft like warehouses) may need larger or additional units. CFM (cubic feet per minute) ratings matter more than square footage alone in tall spaces.
